Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca

It’s arrival day for your two-week trip in Morocco. The day you have been counting down to. Your driver will meet you outside the terminal building in Casablanca and take you to your hotel a for the night. 

Because we offer custom tours, designed for your specific needs, the plan for today is left open and we will finalize it when you book. If you arrive early in the day we can set out a plan of exploring the medina in Casablanca and catch a tour of Hassan II mosque if time permits. 

Accommodation: Hotel Kenzi Basma or similar

Day 2: Casablanca / Rabat / Chefchaouen 

Following breakfast, we will embark on a journey to Chefchaouen, the renowned blue city nestled in the picturesque Rif Mountains of Morocco with a stop in Rabat, the capital city and the residence of the King.

In Rabat, a brief visit will be arranged, allowing us to explore notable landmarks such as the Hassan Tower and the Mausoleum of Mohammed V. After this enriching experience, we will continue to Chefchaouen, where us will spend the next 2 nights.

Accommodation: Hôtel Madrid (or similar).

Day 3: Chefchaouen Discovery Day

Start your day with an early morning photo session before breakfast. Once you’ve enjoyed a satisfying meal, embark on a guided tour of a hidden gem, a captivating blue town nestled in the tranquil mountains. Immerse yourself in the serene atmosphere of the Rif Mountains and indulge in photography as you capture the myriad shades of blue that make this city truly special. 

Recharge with a delightful lunch served at a local restaurant. The afternoon offers you free time to leisurely stroll through the streets of the town or return to your hotel for relaxation. As the early evening approaches, we will take a scenic uphill walk to witness a breathtaking sunset over the city, a truly memorable experience.

Day 4: Chefchaouen / Volubilis / Fes 

After enjoying a pleasant breakfast, it’s time to embark on a scenic journey through the picturesque rolling hills towards the captivating Roman ruins of Volubilis. Immerse yourself in history as we partake in a guided tour of these remarkably preserved ruins, considered the finest in this region of Northern Africa and proudly recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. 

Following our exploration of Volubilis, the adventure continues towards the imperial city of Fès, renowned as one of the most captivating destinations in Morocco. Prepare for an enriching experience as we settle into a comfortable hotel for a two-night stay, allowing us ample time to discover the city’s intriguing treasures. Before reaching Fès, a delightful lunch will be enjoyed in the city of Meknes, adding to the flavours and experiences of your journey.

Day 5: Fes Cultural Tour

Embark on a captivating exploration of the intricate streets within the esteemed Fès medina, accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide. As the largest medieval medina still in existence, the Fès medina has earned its UNESCO World Heritage Site status. Delve into the enchanting artisanal quarters, savour delectable treats from street vendors, and gain a unique perspective of Fès’ renowned leather tannery from a bird’s-eye view. 

Following this immersive experience, you will have some leisure time to spend as you please. Alternatively, you can choose to join your local guide for a further expedition through the labyrinthine streets of the Fès medina, which spans an impressive 365 hectares and boasts over 9,000 winding streets. Marvel at the ancient buildings that trace their origins back to the 9th century, and witness the vibrant pulse of the medina through the presence of 350 active mosques scattered throughout its alleys.

Day 6: Fes / Merzouga 

Experience a captivating journey across the diverse landscapes of Morocco, culminating in the breathtaking sand dunes of the Sahara Desert.

Traverse varied terrains, from cedar and pine forests where Barbary apes may appear (the only monkey native to North Africa), to the Middle Atlas Mountains with pre-desert landscapes featuring deep gorges and vibrant palm groves.

The day concludes with a unique overnight stay at a desert auberge, a simple hotel nestled on the edge of the Sahara’s mesmerizing dunes. Enjoy a delightful local-style dinner and immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance of the desert throughout the night.

Day 7: Erg Chebbi & Merzouga Sightseeing Tour 

After enjoying a delightful breakfast, the morning will be dedicated to exploring the mesmerizing undulating golden sands of the Sahara desert. Embark on a thrilling land cruiser excursion, allowing you to discover the vibrant communities that thrive in this desert environment. Encounter a nomad family and immerse yourself in their fascinating way of life. Visit the Gnawa music center, where you will have the opportunity to savour an Amazigh pizza, a local delicacy. 

Late in the afternoon, venture deep into the dunes on a camel ride, creating unforgettable memories as you witness the breathtaking spectacle of the sunset. Learn the art of tying a turban, not only shielding your face from the desert sun but also adding a touch of elegance to your photographs. 

In the evening, indulge in a traditional dinner, savouring the authentic flavours of the region. Afterward, gather around a cozy campfire under the star-studded sky at your campsite. Listen to captivating stories about life in this remarkable region and delight in the rhythmic beats of traditional music played on the drums, immersing yourself in the rich cultural tapestry of the desert. This will be the perfect time and place to learn or hone your night photography skills

Day 8: Merzouga / Todgha Gorge

After waking up early to witness the magnificent sunrise casting its golden glow over the tranquil eastern dunes, it will be time to mount your camel once again and bid farewell to the Sahara. As you part ways with your trusty camel companion in Merzouga, your journey will continue towards the awe-inspiring Todgha Gorge—an impressive canyon standing 300 meters high and renowned as one of Morocco’s most breathtaking natural wonders.

En route, a stopover in the charming town of Tinejdad awaits, where you will indulge in a delicious lunch. During your time here, make sure to visit the Oasis Museum, a collection of three meticulously restored houses showcasing Amazigh antiquities and traditional artifacts sourced from various tribes across the country.

As your day progresses, you will arrive at Todgha Gorge, where you will find accommodation for the night in a welcoming Amazigh guesthouse. Nestled within this majestic setting, prepare to immerse yourself in the beauty of the surroundings and enjoy a comfortable evening in the embrace of the gorge’s captivating charm.

Day 9: Todgha Gorge / Ait Ben Haddou 

Embark on a journey today towards Ait Ben Haddou, with a captivating stopover in the roses valley visiting a rose farm and continue to Ouarzazate, widely known as the “Hollywood of Morocco.” This thriving city has earned its reputation due to the presence of 17th-century kasbahs, which have garnered it the prestigious designation of a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987. Notably, Ouarzazate has served as a remarkable filming location for renowned Hollywood productions like The Gladiator, Jewel of the Nile, and more recently, the popular TV series Game of Thrones. 

As the day progresses, immerse yourself in the rich history and charm of the old town of Ait Ben Haddou through an engaging walking tour along its main passages. Uncover the secrets of this ancient fortified city and admire its architectural wonders. After a day of exploration, find comfort and rest in a hotel, allowing you to fully embrace the essence of Ait Ben Haddou during your overnight stay.

Day 10: Ait Ben Haddou / Imlil

Transition from the pre-desert to the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2260m. Enter Toubkal National Park, passing charming villages en route to Imlil.

Embark on a scenic optional hike to Aroumd village at the base of the High Atlas Mountains. A car will carry our bags and anyone who prefers not to hike. Relish stunning views of Mt Toubkal from the mountain gîte and savour a home-cooked dinner.

Settle in and relish the tranquility, breathtaking views, and crisp mountain air.

  • Your Local Living Moment: Mountain Gîte Stay with Traditional Moroccan Meal After a brief uphill hike, arrive at a cozy mountain gîte for the night. Inhale fresh mountain air while enjoying spectacular views of the Atlas Mountains before indulging in a traditional, homemade dinner made with local produce.
  • Optional Hiking from Imlil to Aroumd (Aremd) (1h): While the hike involves an uphill climb, it is suitable for individuals of average fitness. Take it at a leisurely pace to fully appreciate the experience.

Day 11: Imlil / Marrakech 

Arrive in Marrakech and enjoy a guided tour of the bustling medina following a delicious lunch. With free time in the afternoon, you can choose to visit the famous Jardin Majorelle, once owned by Yves Saint Laurent. Consider visiting Djemaa el Fna Square in the evening, where a lively congregation of musicians and street performers gather. Capture some memorable photos and indulge in people-watching from the comfort of one of the terraces overlooking the vibrant medina. 

The journey to Marrakech promises awe-inspiring scenery as you traverse the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, reaching an elevation of 2260 meters.

Day 12: Marrakech sightseeing tour 

After breakfast enjoy a guided tour of the bustling medina following a delicious lunch on your own. Consider visiting Djemaa el Fna Square in the evening, where a lively congregation of musicians and street performers gather. Capture some memorable photos and indulge in people-watching from the comfort of one of the terraces overlooking the vibrant medina.

Day 13: Marrakech / Essaouira 

After breakfast we will be driving for 3 hours to reach the charming coastal city of Essaouira. On the way you will stop by an Argan oil coop. Essaouira Nestled within historic Portuguese fortifications, Essaouira is a vibrant fishing town renowned for its colourful charm. Here, you’ll find alluring beaches and a thriving surf scene. Unwind on the sandy shores or venture into the UNESCO-listed medina to discover a variety of souks and woodcarving workshops. Navigating the medina is effortless, as any city gate will lead you through its enchanting labyrinthine streets. Enjoy the picturesque beach located just in front of the medina, where you can relax and indulge in the tranquil atmosphere. Numerous cafes with inviting terraces offer the perfect setting to unwind and immerse yourself in Essaouira’s creative ambiance. Explore the town and be captivated by the unique charm of its blue doors and window frames, while artists’ shops provide a delightful escape from the bustling imperial cities.

Day 14: Essaouira Discovery Morning 

Take advantage of a day at your leisure to explore the enchanting coastal port town in your own preferred manner. Whether you seek relaxation or adventure, the choice is yours. 

If you desire to unwind and soothe your tired muscles, consider treating yourself to the rejuvenating Traditional Hammam Experience for about 1h30 . Indulge in this revitalizing ritual to recharge your batteries and experience a blissful sense of renewal

Day 15: Departure Day from Casablanca 

After breakfast you will be driven back to Casablanca where you can catch an afternoon or evening flight or extend your stay.
